A Memorable Experience as a Wedding Photography Workshop Host in San Diego California!
Traveling to San Diego to host a workshop with Styled by Lindsey https://www.heyitslinds.com/styledbylinds was a dream come true! This vibrant city offers the perfect backdrop for hosting workshops, providing our attendees with valuable knowledge, portfolio building opportunities, and a chance to connect with like-minded photographers.
Inspire. Network. Create.
Lindsey and I connected on Instagram…and quickly became friends…I was obsessed with what Lindsey was putting out on the gram, and asked if she’d like to collaborate with me doing a photography workshop together! Lindsey’s styled shoots are designed to give photographers a place to inspire one another, network and create beautiful content to attract their ideal clients. Each shoot is thoughtfully designed and features local + destination wedding vendors. We collaborated together the colors of the shoots, the locations, models, and the feel of the shoots..romantic and editorial.
As a workshop host, I’ve had the privilege of sharing my expertise and passion with eager participants, creating memorable experiences that leave a lasting impact. Lindsey and I provided 8 different styled shoots, photography education, lots of fun to our attendees, and we even cooked them a welcome dinner!
San Diego’s picturesque landscapes and wedding venues plus perfect weather make it an ideal location for hosting photography workshops, (and for getting married there for that matter!) Whether you choose indoor venues with state-of-the-art facilities like the Contemporary Art Museum https://mcasd.org/, or an outdoor/indoor venue like La Jolla Woman’s Club https://lajollawomansclub.org/.
As a workshop host, our primary goal was to impart our attendees lives with photo & business skills. I focused on how to pose quickly, and gave them opportunities to build their portfolios by having 8 couples to photograph…some were models, and some were just couples who enjoy getting their photos taken! I even met a couple that were getting married in Branson Missouri (where i’m from), but were from San Diego to model for us at the photography workshop! After they were married, they flew back to San Diego and modeled for a shoot for us on the Sunset Cliffs! WOW!
Also, being able to connect with amazing and talented wedding vendors in the San Diego area was a bonus for me for sure! It’s fun to see how the wedding market is in other areas!
The attendees were amazing! They really wanted to learn from me, and from each other, plus build their portfolios to have content to show prospective clients. Networking has always been something i’m passionate about, and many of the photographers came away with not only beautiful photos, but also great friendships with other creatives too! Workshops provide a platform for attendees to connect with like-minded individuals, forge new relationships, and develop collaborations. Succeeding as a workshop host involves facilitating these connections by organizing structured networking sessions, group activities, and informal discussions. We even had a Yoga class for everyone to come to!
As a workshop host, seeing the positive impact on participants is truly rewarding. Witnessing their growth, newfound skills, and connections forged during the workshop brings a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment. By providing them an opportunity to keep connecting with me after the shoots for ongoing support, resources, and follow-up opportunities, I ensure that the value derived from the photography workshop extends beyond its duration.
My and Lindsey’s hope is that we were able to provide value to our attendees more than just images for their portfolio! Lindsey (Styled by Linds) lives in Santa Cruz California and hosts photography workshops all over the California area! She’s a doll! If you are a photographer wanting to build your portfolio and network with other like-minded photographers than check her workshops out!
I love offering 1 on 1 photography & business mentorships and workshops, so reach out to me to see what’s coming up!
